DIY: Do It Yourself

1980's Splash Clutch

How To Make A Chinese High Low Dress?

Step 1: Take an old dress that you do not wear any more or have not ever wore it and lay it out flat on a bed, table, or the floor where you have room to work at.

Step 2: Fold the dress in half  by the sides.

Step 3: Pin down the bottom part of the dress.

Step 4: Take your shear and cut through the middle of the dress. (Be careful of not making your cut too short for the dress.) Then cut down.

Step 5: Now that you have cut out the front part of the dress. Do a hand stitch hem roll (about 1/4 in.) and hem all the way across. Clip the extra threads that you see. (If you do not know how to do a hand stitch hem roll go to www.youtube.com to learn about a hem roll stitch).

Step 6: After you have hem roll the bottom of the front dress. Take a iron and press down the bottom.

Extra Step: If you had a belt in the front of the dress. Take the belt of with a seam ripper and take out the those threads.

Here is your final look of a Chinese high and low dress. What I did is  I had to long string that you can tie in the back. Instead I took those two strings and made a belt in the front.

This is the side view (sorry my room is a little messy).

This is the back view.
